Editorial policy
A chapter is a promise. This page is the small print of that promise.
Selection
Utilities earn a chapter when they meet three tests: wide adoption across platforms, documentation that rewards a guided reading, and concepts that outlast version numbers. Hype fails all three; that is why you will not find it here.
The path from draft to page
- Primary read. The author works through the project’s own documentation end to end, not a summary of it.
- Draft against structure. Every chapter follows the same skeleton: purpose, mental model, syntax grammar, pointer to the canonical source.
- Second-editor pass. A second editor checks claims against the primary source and cuts anything decorative.
- Publication. The page goes up with its edition noted.
- Standing review. Corrections from readers are verified against the documentation and applied with credit where the correspondent wishes it.
Independence
No project pays for coverage, placement, or tone. The library links only to official documentation — never to mirrors, repackages, or third-party redistribution of any kind. If a link stops being official, the chapter is amended or the link is removed.
Corrections
Errors of fact are corrected on discovery, with the correction noted internally. Errors of emphasis are debated, then either fixed or defended — both outcomes on record. Write to [email protected].
